Is It Too Late? No, It’s Not – Here’s Why
When is it too late?
A member of my list wrote to me saying that, at 59, didn’t feel that he’d ever had any real financial success. He wanted to buy his wife new clothes, give more to his children etc. He wondered if it was too late?
59 is not to late. It’s never too late until we have no more ability to inhale.
Harland Sanders, while living off of Social Security, started Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 65.
What you do have to begin looking for are those patterns in your life that both serve and undermine you.
For example, I had one client who wanted far more than her menial job could ever give her. She read books, went to seminars, etc. But, her pattern included coming home at 6, fixing TV dinners and then plopping down in front of the tube for the rest of the evening.
She never took meaningful action beyond the “feel good” level.
She shifted slowly. She began watching TV an hour later, then had at least one action item per day that she could do to help her improve. Then she paired her watching down to just 2 hours a day, etc.
She worked on other patterns, established new ones, then began seeing remarkable events. It didn’t happen overnight but our lives as we know them today didn’t happen overnight either.
At the age of 52 she began seeing the successes she’d been hoping for.
Another client, a major entertainment celebrity wondered the same thing! Was he too late in making the “right choices.” Good news, it wasn’t too late. It is never too late!
A conscious purposeful action plan can speed up anyone’s life toward more of what they want far faster than it took to get into the positions they find themselves in now.
When finances are tough and there doesn’t seem to be enough time, there is always time to look for the solution. What other option is there if you’re not willing to accept your present situation?
I wish you all the best in your search and I can visualize your future celebration of achievements!
