Bah Humbug! Really? Here’s why. . .

Posted by: Tom    in Finding YIW

Note: There is also a link below for my gift to you, in case you didn’t get it yet.

Bah Humbug! Really? Here’s why. . .

gift_box I like to think that I practice being grateful. Sometimes, when things aren’t going well, I have to think about it and find grateful reasons, and I’m talking beyond positive thinking here. It’s not always easy, is it?

Thousands of people have trusted me enough to be on my list. Some of you have remained for years through stuff you may not have liked, but because you saw enough you did like, you stayed.

I am more than grateful for you, all of you, new members or long timers. Some of you are customers, some are just present and seeking new information and some of you are interactive with me.

Over the years some of you have become one-on-one clients and we’ve developed our own unique relationships. Others have written to me privately and/or on the public comments of my various blogs. I am most grateful for it all.

Why the “Bah Humbug?” title. I keep getting these corporate email Holiday Greeting notes or group “cards” from places I’m subscribed to or where I’ve purchased things from. What does that mean?

We can now send a note to everyone or selected groups on our lists with the push of a button. We can put lovely graphics on (or have our graphics department do it) and zap, everyone gets their “cards.”

I even got one “F-R-E-E Gift” notice with a nice bow and “Holiday Greetings” note. All I had to do to collect my “F-R-E-E” gift was to buy a $97 product. Hmm? How do you spell unsubscribe? I hit that button fast.

I even get “Personal” notes. Mass mailings from some guru or CEO. How is that personal? To them, and the dollars for F-R-E-E-Gift-givers, I say BAH HUMBUG!

To you, all I can say in this impersonal grouped message is thank you. I am truly grateful for your new or continued presence.

One of the reasons I’ve given away the digital versions of my book, “How To Take No For An Answer And Still Succeed,” even though many others have paid $27 for it, is that now, more than ever, it may prove very helpful for those in troubled times. It was written to help people overcome rejection in all its forms, i.e. disappointment, humiliation, and failure.

Also, for those who have the book, I’ll be announcing a deep discount on the audio book, just for you, as soon as it’s available.

The link for the book is below, impersonal though this may be.

So, my anti-bah humbug is in this full disclosure. This message was sent to you all. It’s only personal in my deep appreciation for you as a part of this group. Of course, to some of you whom I’ve come to know and who’ve taken the time to interact with me, an even deeper gratitude exists, customers and non-customers alike.

Thank you all. We’re all in this together as we try to make our worlds better places to be by increasing our unique personal powers for ourselves and our loved ones.

Merry Christmas
Happy Hanukkah
or just. . .
Happy Holidays!

More power to you,

Tom

What About UFO’s And Fish?

Posted by: Tom    in Finding YIW

Conventional thinking is the antithesis to creativity.

Every comfort item we now have and take for granted, including inventions to medicine to lifesaving devices were mostly borne from unconventional thinking.

Communities of people, whether grade school, offices, or neighborhoods have a groupthink attitude and a compulsion to deride those who don’t fit their mold.

Of course, there are always the outsiders, those who won’t toe the line or fit the other member’s concept of the way they “should be.” This is neither good or bad, just the norm, albeit a small percentage.

The sense of wanting to be liked and to belong is far more “normal,” some might say beneficial to the community.

Society can point to the loners, social outcasts, misfits, and even the  mentally unstable to make the point of the benefits of conformity within established communities.

Homeowner’s associations shun differences and insist on conformity of their neighborhoods. This is enormously beneficial to those who are comfortable fitting in and not rocking the boat, though you will find curmudgeons, rabble rowsers, and neighborhood anarchists who live within these confines yet rail against their majority rule.

The group of outsiders I want to celebrate are those who can interact with their communities while thinking and even speaking outside the box of group conformity. They refuse to be stifled, yet can be otherwise productive and thoughtful members of their groups while conducting their own innovative ideas, discussing subjects that are not comfortable to others, yet maintaining civility.

F.E.A.R. And Epidemics

Posted by: Tom    in Finding YIW

Are you fearful? Swine flu, (H1N1)? How about the economy? Maybe this will relax you a bit. I hope it ticks you off too!

The fear mongering politicians and media seem to have united. But why should we doubt them? Isn’t the evidence of the flu and the economy prevalent for us all to see?

Those who would instill fear in us are those who wish to control us. I’ve long believed that and take any fear mongering with everything from a grain of salt to shaker of great skepticism.

I’m no Pollyanna, in fact I’m fast becoming either a terrific realist or a god-awful cynic. I don’t think it’s the latter. But I’ll spare you my self-analysis . . . for now.

I would like to scream to the world, “Don’t trust ANY politician or the media. STOP it!  Be a critical thinker, let your motto be, “Doubt before belief.”  Be an open-minded skeptic.

Oh, but you may say, shouldn’t we be forewarned about Swine flu, the horrific economy, the poor people out of work and the rest of us who could find ourselves in line for shelter and Salvation Army handouts?

Observant? Yes. absolutely. Watch and be aware of what’s going on around you. That’s one of the core teachings in “Your Inner Wizard” work. Of course there is rampant job loss . . .uh, wait a minute. Yes, tens of thousands are out of work. But aren’t millions and millions still with jobs? Hmmm.

Retirement funds have been decimated. Yes, true. But many had money elsewhere too. Not everyone was wiped out. The stories of great loss and retirements lost are sad beyond measure. But it isn’t the whole world.

The human spirit, when engaged becomes innovative. Apathy defeats spirit and only conscious awareness can bring that back. So it becomes a choice. Swim in the reservoir of FEAR being showered down on us by these mostly aforementioned unscrupulous entities, or find your own counsel and become more innovative and hence, less controlled.

You can have spirit or you can fear it. Fear what the media political hacks are showering on us. We are controlled by them, if we so allow, as the politicians who go to great lengths to justify their draconian measures in order to make you beholden to them, and then both feed off one another.

We reward the media and our representatives by accepting them at face-value, without checking those things that most deeply affect us. Google is our tool for advocacy and self-preservation . . . if we consciously choose to use it as we separate fact from fear.

My real hope here is to get us to rethink our fears. To step back. To look at the so-called dire situations.

You may have read my previous blog about F.E.A.R. and I don’t mean the now cliched acronym “False Evidence Appearing Real” either. That’s just silly. See “F.E.A.R.(less) – First Evaluate According to Risk” in the Justin Times.

Now, I’m no health expert and I invite you to ignore what I do and keep your own counsel. But here’s the deal with me.

I’m 63 and haven’t had a prescription drug in at least 25 years, except for post dental pain. I’ve never had a flu vaccination or a vaccination of any kind, except in the army, where I had no choice.

My mother is 95 and has the same history with vaccinations. Until recently she only took two medications. She now has four, two for high blood pressure, which she takes sparingly. She’s smoked since she was 16 and partied hearty through her ‘70s. She’s had three hospital stays in her adult life, not including three pregnancies. She suffers from age related macular degeneration. Her mind is sharp her conversation witty.  The young staff in her retirement home invites her to their parties.

Dad died at age 74. He too was a heavy smoker and seldom drank less than anyone else around him. His first major indication of illness was death from heart failure. Also vaccination free with no adult hospitalizations except for injuries in a car and a plane crash.

I’ve never smoked and am a moderate drinker. No matter what happens from this point on, I’ve been very fortunate. Knock on wood. I’ve been in a plane wreck, motorcycle crash, car roll over, and I’ve been shot and kidnapped at knife point . But so far the organs have held out and I’ve never even broken a bone.

I point this out because the world of modern pharmaceuticals have a stake in our fear. They would us take a drug for almost everything, including the fear of “pandemics.” They throw that up at as every 20 years or so. Pharmaceutical companies pass out their newest drugs and vaccines and then take credit for something that didn’t happen and likely wouldn’t have any way.

There is an article on the current Swine flu (H1N1) “epidemic” by a highly respected MD, Dr. Joseph Mercola, who is not in the big pharma camp. Take a look at his article here. I know you’ll be enlightened by it.

Between epidemics and the economy, we have our hands and minds full.

In the ‘60s, one of the Hippie mantras was, “Question authority!” Today that should be our adult mantra.

Is This Your Secret Mission?

Posted by: Tom    in Finding YIW

Did you see the video and my blog post about the amazing Susan Boyle from the show “Britain’s Got Talent.” If not, do yourself a 4 minute favor, just as millions have done, and go see it right now, then read the rest of this: http://budurl.com/SuanBoyle

That video is a great lesson in the ugliness of the pre-judgment of others. It’s also a wake-up call for how we are sometimes judged by others.

But the worst judges of us are often ourselves. Our withholds from displaying our talents and abilities are frequently because of our fears of rejection and inadequacy.

It’s always worth considering to ask yourself this important question, “Do I think I’m good enough?” Your answer must always be in the affirmative, even if it means starting anew right now.

We all exist with gifts to share. They cost nothing except our belief in self and a little time. But most of us squander these by not releasing them because we don’t believe enough that WE have such gifts to share. Others? Of course, we get inspiration from OTHERS. But us – inspire?

When you can walk up to that slightly visible line just this side of arrogance, and express yourself with conviction and the care that it may mean something to someone, then turn away without expecting anything in return, including compliments or fear of ridicule, you may very well be fulfilling your mission on earth – even if you don’t know what it is, except the belief that you can make a powerful difference.

If you haven’t yet come to know your real gifts, or you think you do know but have doubts, now is the time to explore. Now is the time to act. Whatever they may be, they are very real and they exist within you right now.

When you allow yourself to find your gifts you will have a sudden knowing beyond anything you can imagine. It may last only moments, but then settle in to be a “fact of you.” This not only greatly enhances your life but the lives of others, whether you come to know it or not. Your gifts are not just to you, but to the “worlds” around you.

As I train others to find their “Inner Wizards,” I’m never at a loss of amazement for their own self-discoveries. Sometimes the most difficult trials bring forth the most positive results. Things are bad? This is the time to dig deeper. The treasure you seek is looking back at you in the mirror.

Some of the greatest talents and inspirational beings in history doubted their worth. What made them valued contributors was that they stayed in action. They overcame the fear of rejection and ridicule. They allowed for their mistakes and moved forward again and again.

To be inspired is like finding gold. To be inspiring is like creating gold.

Be bold, be both! Embrace Your Inner Wizard.

A Great And Inspiring Lesson

Posted by: Tom    in Finding YIW

We all knew kids from grade school to college who were picked on, ridiculed, or shunned. Some of them suffered just because of the way they looked or maybe because they acted a little “different.”

There is an almost universal inhumanity that must be primal in nature’s weak/strong process. In the animal kingdom the weak are left to die or are killed outright.

Fortunately, most of the time in the human kingdom, those who seem weak or different and suffer the group ridicule are allowed to go on with their lives, albeit, with more difficulty and psychic pain.

Books and movies often display stories of the so-called ugly ducklings, blossoming into beauty, talent, or bazillions of dollars, only to outshine their contemporaries and make the bullies look stupid and foolish, which they most assuredly were anyway.

There are many great real life stories of success and powering through such difficulties. They too are inspiring and in some cases downright awesome examples of the human spirit.

I love those stories as they are always reminders to us that someone overcame worse odds than we had yet still prospered.

It’s why I love the concept of “Your Inner Wizard,” that power that we can call up to help us overcome the worst possible odds. All of us have a reservoir of inner power that we frequently don’t realize. This is where Emerson’s quote is so apt: “Most of us go to our graves with our sweetest music still unplayed.”

I saw a clip on YouTube (see below) that blew me away. It’s also the perfect example of the horrific judgment we can render as a group over someone who seems a bit different or doesn’t fit the mold of what is thought to be the “type.”

Watch the shots of the audience as this woman, Susan Boyle, is introduced. Her physical appearance and somewhat awkward responses got reactions from the judges and members of the audience that should make us all rethink the next time we pre-judge anyone on first appearances. Wait until you see the outcome!

You are in for a few minutes of bliss and a lesson in basic humanity.

Feel free to pass this along. Just refer the to http://budurl.com/SuanBoyle – And feel free to sign up for your special report on YIW below or click here.
